Unopened 1910 Tobacco Pack!

Wow. That's all that can be said about this gem. This is the first such pack that I have ever seen. Could the most valuable card in history be in this pack? Or could it be "just" a common? Fork over several thousand dollars and find out! One thing is certain: a 100 year old T206 baseball card may be in that pack. For whoever opens the pack, I hope it is a Honus! Or a Cobb! Or a Cy Young! Or a Mathewson! Or a Doyle! Or a....I could go on and on. Amazing.

In my humble opinion, the best sports cards ever created came from this set (T206), and this set is the best set ever.

Always has been, always will be. Sorry Upper Deck.

Pull of a Lifetime!

George Washington / Abraham Lincoln 1/1 Auto

Don't you just love how I put 1/1 in there to confirm just how rare this card is? Because, otherwise, my loyal readers would not have known. Anyway, this card was pulled by a lucky gentleman, who just happened to be filming it live. *warning* Video contains some bad language.

Update: The card has been sold for $16,200.

Supposedly, one pack of this product costs $2,500, so that is a nice little flip. I wonder how much money he has wasted chasing this card or other similar cards? Either way, a beautiful card.

Background about this product: There were only 99 2008 Razor Oval Office packs produced, with each pack containing a Presidential or dual Presidential signature.

What is your best card ever pulled? Did you keep it or sell it?

Card of the Minute: Jim Thorpe

Here is a sweet 2007 Jim Thorpe Playoff National Treasures Cut Auto 1/1. He was perhaps the greatest athlete who ever lived, and just getting his normal football cards is a costly proposition. Few autos of him exist, making this card worth several thousand dollars.

First Set in Existence!

This set is a behemoth. The Upper Deck Yankee Stadium Legacy Collection includes more than 6,600 cards, with each card representing a specific game played at Yankee Stadium. The set has now been conquered. The beauty of this accomplishment is that the proud owner, Chuck Sauter, had to utilize every method of collecting to complete the set. In an eBay age where you can just buy whatever cards you want or need, it is refreshing to see trading play an important role in completing the set. Each card was inserted into 10 different Upper Deck products during 2008, appearing in 1:4 packs. Mr. Sauter, I salute you. Well done.

Anybody working on a set of their own?

Card Enthusiast Unveils Multi-Million Dollar Collection

A new heavyweight in the sports card collecting game has surfaced, apparently ready to face off with the giants of the hobby. This collector's cards make even the (once) proud owners of The Monster (T206) set jealous.

Allen Iverson 1999-00 Upper Deck Black Diamond
- $1,000,000
David Robinson 1999-00 Upper Deck Black Diamond - $1,000,000
Tim Duncan 1999-00 Upper Deck Black Diamond - $1,000,000
Karl Malone 1999-00 Upper Deck Black Diamond - $1,000,000

This is just the tip of the iceberg. If you're looking for something a little more affordable, this lucky collector also has several incredible cards of NBA stalwarts Nick Van Exel, Latrell Sprewell, John Stockton and Allen Houston. Unfortunately, this collector clearly has an anti-Lakers bias, evidenced by this Ron Harper card he's liquidating for $1,000.

Own his entire 19 card collection for $4,591,000. Don't forget shipping.

In all seriousness, what's your most prized card? How much would you be willing to sell it for?

Baseball Card Website DOES NOT Sell For $1,750,000.00?

Personally, I thought the "Pickup Only:Free" shipping would have sealed the deal on this auction. Not sure how this slipped through the cracks. I'm not going to lie; cvalue.com is a sweet website (and much better than this one, that's for sure), and some day, an auction like this will end...with a bidder. If that site is worth nearly $1,750,000, how much is my blog worth? $15.50? My header graphic is completely original!
